Forest School
The first stage of our Forest School has been installed, with help from our PTA, parents and the local community! At Monkton CEP School we are we are blessed with beautiful grounds and wildlife which we now can fully use and appreciate.
What is a Forest School?
Forest School is an inspirational process that offers pupils regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences. Forest Schools are set in woodland and natural environments with trees.
Forest School is a specialised learning approach that sits within and compliments the wider context of outdoor and woodland education. At Monkton each year group has three blocks of Forest School a year with staff trained up to level 3 Forest School practioner, Teaching Assistants and Parent helpers. All children gain enormously from these sessions giving them a change to lead their own learning, let off steam and build resilience.
